Seasonal Crystal Guides
Crystals for Every Season of the Year

Many crystal practices follow the turning of the year: grounding stones as the days shorten, bright solar stones at midsummer, heart stones when spring arrives. Pick your season below to see the stones, rituals and pairings we recommend for it.

Seasonal associations come from crystal tradition and folklore, not scientific evidence. Use them for reflection and intention-setting, never in place of medical or mental-health care.

Coming up: winter solstice, the new year and Valentine's Day

The winter solstice falls on December 21 or 22 in the Northern Hemisphere. Our winter crystals guide covers solstice and Yule rituals, and the December birthstones (turquoise, with blue topaz as the modern alternative) make popular holiday gifts. For new-year intentions, January's garnet is the traditional stone of commitment.

For Valentine's Day, see rose quartz, the classic love stone, and February's birthstone amethyst.
